Call for Papers for 9TH nbmc
Join us this year as we all Publish & Flourish in the 9th National Business and Management Conference happening on Nov. 19 and 20. This event is organized by the DLSU Center for Business Research and Development (CBRD), Adamson University, Colegio de San Juan de Letran, and the Philippine Academy of Management (PAoM) in partnership with the DLSU Skills in Technical and Advanced Research Training (START) Center, USAID-STRIDE, and RTI International.
Authors are invited to submit their research on various areas of business and management for presentation at the 9th NBMC with the theme “Publish & Flourish: Strengthening Business Education Through Research Capacity-Building.”
All papers/abstracts submitted and approved in the conference will be published in the 9th National Business and Management Conference Proceedings (ISSN 2345-8720). Those who will submit full papers will have the option to subject their manuscript for review and potential publication in the Philippine Academy of Management e-Journal (ISSN 2651-7124).

Deepening Statistical Analysis in Business and Management Research: An Introduction to the New Statistics
The Philippine Academy of Management (PAoM) invites you all to the first capacity-building webinar leading to the 9th National Business and Management Conference (NBMC) on November 19 and 20, 2021. Join us on September 11, 2021, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM as Dr. Benito Teehankee and Mr. Patrick Adriel Aure discuss with us “Deepening Statistical Analysis in Business and Management Research: An Introduction to the New Statistics.”
Quantitative business and management research has long used traditional significance testing focusing on the p-values. Leading scholarly associations such as the American Psychological Association and the American Statistical Association have recommended that statistical analysis can be made more meaningful and substantive by going “deeper” than the p-value and including confidence intervals and effect sizes. It is also important to look at the practical significance of statistical findings to the business and management issue being studied. This webinar introduces leading edge statistical analysis referred to as The New Statistics. The goal is to advance the current state of quantitative research in business and management for better knowledge generation and applications to practice.

About the PAOM e-Journal
The Philippine Academy of Management e-Journal is an online and open-access peer-reviewed journal that targets a twice-a-year release. It is indexed at the Andrew Gonzalez Philippine Citation Index. As an open-access journal, it is supported partly by the funds generated by PAOM from its membership fees. Starting 2021, as approved by the PAOM Board of Governors, the journal will also charge a publication fee of P3,000 for articles that have successfully hurdled the review process.
The PAoM e-Journal, which recognizes the need for stronger management scholarship in the country, provides opportunities to faculty members / academic staff (especially early-career academics), doctoral students, and other graduate students to have their works reviewed and published. These works come mainly from the proceedings of the annual National Business and Management Conference, which tackles a different theme every year. The themes address relevant issues in the Philippine business and management landscape.
As management scholarship is the main thrust of the PAoM, it provides an avenue for faculty members / academic staff, doctoral students, and other graduate students to hone their research skills by utilizing the PAoM e-Journal as a platform for knowledge sharing and dissemination. It also enables them to expand their repertoire of research publications, thereby helping them advance their academic careers.
